Artist Statement

Art to me now is things coming together like so many pieces of a crazy quilt. There is no one way to define art; to do so would to blanket the world in a dull white sheet. Art is ever questioning and ever exploring; it is even the dare of questioning the idea of questioning. All too often we get bogged down with our own way of thinking and perceiving the world we live in. Art allows us to take our perceptions of reality and put them on hold if only for a moment and glimpse how others see the world. We all live in one world, but it is a world of endless diversity.

I find myself questioning what I have done in the past, and questioning what I will do in the future. Where am I striving to go with my work? Where have I already gone? I feel the pull of another movement on its way. Is what I do art? I know it is. It may not be another's idea of art, but ultimately it is the self to whom you first must answer.
